Senior Beat: Falls Prevention and Drug Interactions

This month on Senior Beat we were joined by Dr. Andy Kosseff (co-chair of United Way Falls Prevention Task Force) and Dr. Kay Heggestad will talk about falls prevention.  The discussion will highlight the damage caused by falls in the older population and will emphasize prevention strategies. Next, hosts Christine Beatty and Helen Aarli welcome Kari Trapskin is Director of Health Care Quality Initiatives for the Pharmacy Society of WI to the show. They talk about adverse drug reactions, which also impact the potential of accidents. They also learn about prescriptions and their impact on an older adult is essential to avoid the unseen hazards of adverse drug reactions.
