News Conference: Madison Celebrates First Air Quality Monitor Installation
The City of Madison is proud to announce the installation of its first air quality monitor within the community. It's located at the Kennedy Heights Community Center. 64 more monitors will be installed in the next few months. The City’s new air quality monitoring network will measure particulate matter concentrations in neighborhoods throughout Madison. Funding for the network was provided by the U.S. Department of Environmental Protection.

As part of Mayor Satya Rhode-Conway’s MetroForward initiative, a major investment in Madison mass transit, the City of Madison is teaming up with the MMSD to distribute a summer Metro Transit pass to ALL middle and high school students for the first time. Previously only a small number of students were eligible for free summer passes.

Emergency Order 15 A summary of provisions that changed between Order #14 and Order #15 include: Gathering limits outdoors increased. Outdoor gathering: Numbers must be limited to ensure people who don’t live together can maintain six feet physical distancing at all times. Face coverings remain required in indoor public spaces, but face covering requirements for outdoor spaces were removed. Schools and childcare policy requirements including distancing and cleaning changed. Self-service food stations (e.g., salad bars, buffets, and sampling) may resume. Saunas and steam rooms may reopen, with certain provisions.
